What is the maximum time between application and launching the boat?

The maximum immersion time after application is 6 months for all Seajet antifouling except 027, 038 and 040, depending on the storage conditions of your boat. Seajet 027, 038 and 040 have a maximum immersion time of 3 months.

 

Seajet recommends to wait with immersion at least one day after application.  

Can I apply Seajet antifouling over my existing antifouling?

If you have an existing coating on your hull you will need to establish the compatibility of the two products. Please check our Antifouling Compatibility Table and follow the instructions stated at the bottom.

Seajet recommends 4-5 coats of Seajet 117 Primer silver grey.

What should I do when the maximum immersion time has exceeded?

Please apply another coat of antifouling.

What is the best time to paint my boat?

Apply during the late morning or early afternoon in calm, dry weather. Check always the weather conditions before painting. Temperature, dew point and humidity will affect your paint job.

What are the drying times and over coating times between primer and antifouling?

Can I thin my antifoul?

Thinning can significantly affect the properties of an antifouling. Seajet recommends no thinning of antifouling.

What can I use for rudders, stern gear, trim tabs?

Seajet Pellerclean and Seajet Triple pack both can be used for rudders, stern gear and trim tabs.

How to mix two component products?

Stir base and hardener well by using a power tool or a stirring stick. Stir for a minimum of 5 minutes and add component B in 2 or 3 times to get a homogeneous paint.

What is the difference between Seajet 039 2-pack and Seajet 039 mono?

Seajet 039 2-pack has its copper powder separate in the component B drum. You need to mix it through the paint right before application. Therefore, the paint is fresh at application. Seajet 039 mono is pre-mixed for easy application.

I have a Lagoon Catamaran. Which paint is used on it?

Lagoon uses Seajet 117 Multi purpose epoxy Primer and Seajet 039 Platinum mono Greenish Grey.

I have a Sunseeker. Which paint is used on it?

Sunseeker uses Seajet 117 Multi purpose epoxy Primer and either Seajet 033 Shogun black or Seajet 039 Platinum 2-pack black.

Do I need a barrier coat?

What is the difference between Seajet 034 Emperor and Seajet 034 Emperor A?

The formula of Seajet 034 Emperor A has been adjusted to fit BPR regulations. 034 Emperor A can still be used for DIY application in Europe.

What is the difference between Seajet 038 Taisho and Seajet 040 Shosha?

The formula of Seajet 040 Shosha has been adjusted to fit BPR regulations. Seajet 040 Shosha can still be used for DIY application in Europe (with the exceptions of Germany and the UK).
