- What should I do when the maximum immersion time has exceeded?
Please apply another coat of antifouling.
- What is the recommended surface preparation?
The recommended surface preparation depends on your situation. Please see our Boat Painting Guide, which covers both a new paint system and painting over existing antifouling.
- What is the maximum time between application and launching the boat?
The maximum immersion time after application is 6 months for all Seajet antifouling except 027, 038 and 040, depending on the storage conditions of your boat. Seajet 027, 038 and 040 have a maximum immersion time of 3 months.
Seajet recommends to wait with immersion at least one day after application.
- What is the difference between Seajet 039 2-pack and Seajet 039 mono?
Seajet 039 2-pack has its copper powder separate in the component B drum. You need to mix it through the paint right before application. Therefore, the paint is fresh at application.
Seajet 039 mono is pre-mixed for easy application.
- What is the difference between Seajet 034 Emperor and Seajet 034 Emperor A?
Seajet 034 is for professional use. Seajet 034 A is for DIY.
- What is the best time to paint my boat?
Apply during calm, dry weather. Always check the weather conditions before painting. Temperature, dew point and humidity will affect your paint job.
- What can I use for rudders, stern gear, trim tabs?
Seajet Pellerclean and Seajet Triple Pack can both be used for rudders, stern gear and trim tabs.
- What are the drying times and over coating times between primer and antifouling?
Drying times and overcoating intervals are dependent on temperature and will increase as the applied film thickness increases. Please refer to the Technical Data Sheets for the specific primer and antifouling coating being used.
- I need a price quotation.

- How to mix two component products?
Stir base and hardener well by using a power tool or a stirring stick. Stir for a minimum of 5 minutes and add component B in 2 or 3 times to get a homogeneous paint.
- How many coats of primer do I need for osmosis protection?
Seajet recommends 4-5 coats of Seajet 117 Multipurpose Epoxy Primer.
- Do I need a barrier coat?

- Should I thin my antifoul?
Thinning can significantly affect the properties of an antifouling. Seajet recommends 0% to 5% thinning, depending on the application temperature.
- Can I apply Seajet antifouling over my existing antifouling?
If you have an existing coating on your hull you will need to establish the compatibility of the two products. Please check our Antifouling Compatibility Table and follow the instructions stated at the bottom.
