Aluminium
Protecting aluminium is important because it oxidises in air producing white rust.
For good long term results, aluminium needs similar protection to steel surfaces.
The difference is the initial adhesion primer. SEAJET 017 Epoxy Bonding Primer is a high performance primer designed to give excellent adhesion to aluminium surfaces. This is the perfect start for all areas of an aluminium boat and better than using an etching primer.
Below the waterline
Pre-treatment:
Degrease using SEAJET BOATWASH. Rinse with fresh water.
Preferably abrade aluminium with 80–120 abrasive paper or abrasive grit blast using non-metallic grit.
Brush off dust and use lint free tack rags to remove remaining traces of dust.
