Hydrolysis
The binder resin in this type of anti-foul becomes fully hydrolysed (water-soluble) on contact with water and gradually dissolves over time, thereby releasing biocide in a smooth and controlled fashion. In this case, there is an absence of a ‘skeleton’ layer because gradually all the resin dissolves.
